To understand the characteristics of the patterns of arteries and veins distributed over the ileocolic segment, 50 cadavers were studied by gross-anatomy. The arteries, veins and their paracolic anastomoses distributed over ileocecal region, ascending colon and transverse colon were observed. A chronic wasting disease in a 16 month old Welsh pony filly is described. The animal died 26 days after the onset of illness which commenced with a sub-acute colic and was characterised by progressive loss of appetite and weight. Late complications and the recurrence rate of gall-bladder stones were registered by means of annual follow-up examinations over a maximum period of five and a half years in 91 out of 116 patients in whom endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) with the gall-bladder in situ was performed. Five foals were admitted because of colic that developed within 24 hours after birth. Physical examination revealed swelling from the inguinal region to the cranial aspect of the prepuce.
