Thirty-five cases of primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma of bone are reported. Twenty of these cases were collected from a retrospective analysis of other malignant bone tumors. The age range was from 11 to 69 years; the average age was 34 years. The tumor occurred most commonly in the distal femur and proximal tibia. The distinguishing histologic feature was a storiform arrangement of spindle cells. RATIONALE: Myxofibrosarcoma most commonly arises as a slowly enlarging, painless mass. We describe an unusual case of low-grade myxofibrosarcoma in the axillary fossa, which infiltrated the brachial plexus, axillary artery, and axillary vein, causing severe pain. The low incidence and complex anatomical structure make imaging examination and surgery face great challenges. To the best of our knowledge, such presentation of a low-grade myxofibrosarcoma that showed an extreme infiltrative growth pattern and presented severe pain has not been reported before.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical and histopathologic characteristics of orbital hyalinizing spindle cell tumor with giant rosettes (HSCTGR).
METHODS: Interventional case series of 2 patients, aged 4 and 9 years referred to the Ocular Oncology Unit. Both patients presented with slowly progressive proptosis with dimness of vision in the second patient. CT was performed for both patients followed by excision of the masses.
