To our knowledge, this is the only reported case of Albright's syndrome with reactivation of the fibrous dysplasia in adulthood, a marked elevation of growth hormone secondary to a pituitary adenoma, and development of osteosarcoma within the reactivated fibrous dysplasia. Juvenile ossifying fibroma is a benign lesion with aggressive local growth. It is similar to an ossifying fibroma, although it is more aggressive and of earlier onset. Some cases of ossifying fibroma are part of a syndrome that includes hyperparathyroidism (caused by adenoma or carcinoma) and renal lesions, possibly caused by a recently discovered genetic mutation. Clinical, radiographic and microscopic features of 8 ossifying fibromas diagnosed in 7 patients and measuring more than 8 cm in greatest diameter, were reviewed. The tumors occurred in both juvenile and middle aged patients and all lesions in women involved the maxilla. The abundance of fibrous connective tissue and resorption of mineralized deposits are indicative of altered cellular differentiation and proliferative activities in large ossifying fibromas. Focal areas of aneurysmal bone cyst formation were identified in the majority of lesions.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stability and viability of mandibular bone regeneration using a poly(L-lactide) (PLLA) mesh and autogenous particulate cancellous bone and marrow (PCBM). Our aim was to evaluate the effect of a digital template in the preservation of the inferior alveolar neurovascular bundle during osteotomy for benign lesions of the mandible in 6 patients who were treated with mandibular osteotomies during 2013. Computed tomographic (CT) data were imported into ProPlan CMF 1.4 software. Besides uni- and multilocular jaw cysts the Gorlin-Goltz-syndrome shows other characteristic radiographic findings which help to ensure diagnosis. These are particularly calcification of the falx cerebri and a so called "bridging" between processus clinoideus anterior und posterior of the sella turcica. OBJECTIVES: The goal this presentation is to: 1) Review the reconstructive options for anterior mandible through-and-through composite defects and 2) Instruct the audience in the application of the double-skin paddle fibular flap in selected patients.
METHODS: Case presentation with review of the literature.
RESULTS: A 70-year old male with an anterior floor of mouth squamous cell carcinoma underwent composite resection that included resection of a 5-cm ovoid component of overlying chin skin. The defect was reconstructed with a fibular osteocutaneous flap with a double skin paddle technique.

This paper reports on the largest series of pathological fractures of the mandible (n=44) in the literature, with the aim of proposing an aetiologic classification and algorithm for treatment. A retrospective review was undertaken of cases treated in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center from 1991 to 2005.
