There are concerns about percutaneous closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) using nitinol-alloys devices in patients with nickel hypersensitivity. The results of a retrospective 44-patient study of vocationally disabled patients who had undergone unsuccessful traditional lumbar spine surgical procedures for low back pain and/or lower extremity sciatic pain are presented. In the past two years, we have diagnosed four cases of leprosy at the St Paul-Ramsey Hospital Dermatology Clinic. This is a markedly increased incidence for the state of Minnesota. This study investigated the relationships of age of onset, antisocial history and general psychopathological traits measured by the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) in Japanese alcoholics (n = 84).
