PURPOSE: To report a case of chorioretinitis as the earliest manifestation of Toxoplasma gondii infection acquired through donor after kidney transplantation.
DESIGN/METHODS: Three months after kidney transplantation thepatient referred for visual acuity loss in her left eye and was diagnosed withtoxoplasmicchorioretinitis. Systemic treatment was started.

INTRODUCTION: Optic disc pit is a rare congenital anomaly that, in 60% of cases, can be complicated by serous macular detachment.
CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 56-year-old patient who presented with serous macular detachment caused by optic disc pit and responsible for a deterioration of visual acuity. Intravitreal injection of 0.3 cc of C3F8 and peripapillary photocoagulation was unsuccessful. Vitrectomy, peripapillary photocoagulation, and intravitreal injection of C3F8 helped reduce the serous detachment and improved visual acuity.

We report a case of sudden decrease to unilateral visual acuity in a 39-year-old patient who had extracapsular cataract surgery 5 years earlier. The decrease was caused by involvement of the visual axis because of a rare complication known as liquefied after-cataract. Treatment with a neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) laser was successfully performed. Although there was no rupture in the posterior capsule, the opacity disappeared and the visual acuity improved to 20/20. In 5 consecutive cases presenting between 2000 and 2001, Viscoat injected via a pars plana sclerotomy was used to support and levitate 5 posteriorly dislocated IOLs into the pupillary plane. All 5 IOLs had dislocated into the anterior vitreous. This technique permitted successful exchange or suture refixation of the dislocated IOLs through limbal incisions in all cases. Fusional convergence was trained systematically with orthoptic devices in three patients with a severe deficit in convergent fusion resulting from vascular (one case) or traumatic (two cases) brain damage. Five patients with severe dysthyroid optic neuropathy were treated with intravenous methylprednisolone (1 g daily for 3 consecutive days). Before administration, visual acuity of the more severely affected eyes of each patient was counting fingers at 5 feet, 8/200, 20/400, 20/200, and 20/80. PURPOSE: To evaluate the effectiveness of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy as a treatment for central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO).
METHODS: A total of 38 patients who underwent HBO2 for non-arteritic CRAO were identified. Patients with arteritic CRAO, branch retinal artery occlusion, ophthalmic artery occlusion, and other diagnoses were excluded from the analysis.
