Urographic abnormalities caused by renal artery aneurysms are discussed on the basis of seven cases. Angiography is the diagnostic procedure of choice to make the correct diagnosis. In cases of completely thrombosed aneurysms angiography may only demonstrate an avascular mass with displacement of vessels. At ultrasound examination renal artery aneurysms should be included in the differential diagnosis of echo-free renal masses.

Gray scale ultrasonography is a useful tool in evaluating pelvic and abdominal soft tissue masses that may be associated with bone neoplasms. Four patients are described: two with giant cell tumors, one with Ewing's sarcoma, and one with a sacrococcygeal teratoma. Ultrasound is especially helpful in assessing the extent of disease, treatment planning, and in following the results of therapy.

Roentgen studies in a group of 131 patients on maintenance hemodialysis reveal renal osteodystrophy in 25 patients (19 per cent). In 24 patients of the latter group (98 per cent), the various manifestations of renal osteodystrophy appear in the bony pelvis. These include: osteomalacia; osteitis fibrosa; osteosclerosis; dialysis osteopenia; and extraosseous calcifications. Some of the changes, i.e., bending of bone, Looser's lines, metaphyseal fractures and dialysis osteopenia, are due, at least in part, to the weight bearing nature of the bony pelvis.
