To determine whether DSM-III dependent personality disorder (PD) differed in males and females, 30 females and 11 males with this diagnosis were selected from a psychiatric outpatient population. There is a relationship between personality traits of enlisted personnel at one mid-west Air Force Base and their frequency of moving violations. The 52 individuals who received one or two moving violations were more emotionally stable than the 33 non-offenders and the 18 chronic offenders. The authors mark the following peculiarities of the fixated set in schizophrenia: inertness (in a continuous course); a lability (in acute manifestations of psychoses and in a recurrent course); a variability (in cases of child and adolescent schizophrenia). In terminal cases and in cases of apathic-aboulic syndrome the excitibility level is considerably lowered. On the basis of questionnaires administered to almost 2,000 high school students in Cali, Colombia, a subset of items was selected that deal primarily with parent--child relationships. We conducted a seroepidemiologic study of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) in hyperendemic communities in Bihar, India, to determine its seroprevalence. A direct agglutination test (DAT) and rK39 antigen strip test were used as serologic tests. Capillary blood samples were collected on filter papers from 870 healthy persons (574 and 296 from households with or without VL, respectively).
