Children's disclosures of sexual abuse during forensic interviews are fundamental to the investigation of cases. A 38-year-old male was arrested 7 times over an 8-month period for driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs. In each incident, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) was determined to be the causative agent. A blood specimen was drawn between 1.5 and 2.5 h after first police contact in each arrest. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the impact of the partial repeal of Michigan's universal motorcycle helmet law on helmet use, fatalities, and head injuries.
METHODS: We compared helmet use rates and motorcycle crash fatality risk for the 12 months before and after the April 13, 2012, repeal with a statewide police-reported crash data set. We present a case report of an aggressive natural killer T cell lymphoma in a police officer who presented with combined features of orbital cellulitis and mid-facial destruction. However, his initial diagnosis was confused with other disease conditions that had overlapping features. This emphasizes the significance of clinical alertness and adequate tissue sampling; this can have a great impact on early diagnosis and treatment.

A case of rhabdomyolysis induced by exertional heat stroke in a police officer recruit is reported. Technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate scintigraphy demonstrated marked uptake of the injured skeletal muscle. This bone-scanning agent provided an excellent means of localizing and evaluating the muscle injury of rhabdomyolysis. Nuclear medicine physicians should be aware of the special conditions and causes in which bone scan may demonstrate striking findings.
