BACKGROUND: Hydatid cyst of the brain is serious zoonotic parasitic infections which have profound health consequences if left untreated. The surgical excisions of the cysts are rewarding for both the patient the neurosurgeon.
METHODS: The study was conducted prospectively at Department of Neurosurgery Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar from January 2013 to December 2014. Patients with a diagnosis of intracranial hydatid cysts were included, clinical and radiological features recorded, intervention and postoperative outcome were analysed.

This paper describes the methods and results of an occupational exposure assessment covering 30 years of operation of the EURODIF establishment (1978-2008). The exposure assessment includes radiological, physical and chemical hazards, and takes into account of organizational changes at the establishment. Furthermore, it includes efforts to better quantify the levels of exposures using available industrial hygiene and health physics data. The genetic aspects of infantile cortical hyperostosis are discussed. BACKGROUND: Greater than 80% of women presenting for breast cancer treatment in Uganda have late-stage disease, which is attributable to a dysfunctional referral system and a lack of recognition of the early signs and symptoms among primary health care providers, and compounded by the poor infrastructure and inadequate human capacity.
