Patient Selection in Surgical Centers of Expertise in the Treatment of Patients with Moderate to Severe Male Urinary Stress Incontinence.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze decision-making in patients with male urinary incontinence (SUI) in centers of expertise. The artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) remains the gold standard for male patients with moderate to severe SUI but adjustable male slings are a minimally invasive treatment option with good results, hence without a high level of evidence regarding the optimal patient selection. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In total, 220 patients (88 AUS; 132 adjustable slings) were investigated from the DOMINO database that underwent surgery between 2010 and 2012 in 5 urological departments that offer adj

Preliminary Outcomes of the Male Urethral "Mini-Sling": A Modified Approach to the Andrianne Mini-Jupette Procedure With Penile Prosthesis Placement for Climacturia and Mild Stress Urinary Incontinence.

INTRODUCTION: Previous worked showed that the Andrianne Mini-Jupette (AMJ) procedure with inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) significantly improves climacturia or stress urinary incontinence (SUI) that may accompany erectile dysfunction (ED) after radical prostatectomy. However, with the AMJ procedure, the graft is incorporated into the medial aspect of the corporotomy, thereby requiring a more complex closure. Moreover, in the original report, multiple graft materials were used. AIM: To describe our technique for "male urethral mini-sling" (MUMS) with a Virtue sling mesh, which is a modified

A Danish national population-based cohort study of synthetic midurethral slings, 2007-2011.

INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS: Synthetic midurethral slings (MUSs) have shown similar cure rates in several short- and medium-term follow-up studies. Recently, long-term follow-up studies have indicated that the cure rate is higher following the retropubic midurethral sling (RPMUS) compared with the transobturator midurethral sling (TOMUS) procedure. The aim was to evaluate the efficacy of synthetic MUSs and to examine the influence of department and surgeon volume and patient-related factors on the cure rate of synthetic MUSs. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study based on a national populatio
