OBJECTIVE: To investigate the complications of hyoid suspension with Repose system on obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and to find out the effective prevention strategies.

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the methodology and therapeutic effect of hyoid suspension in association with uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) in the treatment of severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).
METHODS: Sixty-nine patients with severe OSAHS (apnea hyponea index, AHI > 30) were treated with hyoid suspension and UPPP. Sixty-one patients were followed for 6 months (48 of them for 12 months). Selective redox degradation of chlorinated aliphatics by Fenton reaction in pyrite suspension was investigated in a closed system. Carbon tetrachloride (CT) was used as a representative target of perchlorinated alkanes and trichloroethylene (TCE) was used as one of highly chlorinated alkenes. BACKGROUND: Ectropion of the lower eyelid can occur after blepharoplasty as well as reconstructive procedures. Even mild ectropion can cause irritation or epiphora. Patients with preexisting lid laxity are at higher risk for post procedure ectropion.
