Two unrelated children are described with megalocornea, mild-moderate developmental delay, mild joint laxity and a similar dysmorphic appearance, comprising a bossed forehead, hypertelorism, a saddle-shaped nose and a carp-shaped mouth with prominent lips. Similar abnormalities have been observed in previously reported cases of megalocornea/mental retardation and may help to define one subtype of this heterogeneous group of conditions.

Grass carp reovirus (GCRV), particularly the highly prevalent genotype II (GCRV-II), is known to infect peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs) of grass carp. A male Gnathostoma spinigerum was removed from the abdominal wall of a 29-year-old woman, who was in the habit of eating "naniura", a dish containing raw carp (Cyprinus carpio). In this study, we isolated 214 Vibrio cholerae strains from aquatic (shrimp, crab, grass carp, and crucian carp) and their cultured environment in Shanghai, China. The virulence, serotype, and antimicrobial susceptibility were tested, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect antimicrobial resistance genes.
