BACKGROUND: This study evaluated the long-term survival outcomes of concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) for high-risk salivary gland carcinomas (SGCs).
METHOD: Postoperative patients with high-risk SGCs, other than adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC), with T3-4/N1-3M0 disease were enrolled. INTRODUCTION: Narcolepsy is a debilitating chronic neurological disorder, and currently, there is no cure. Activation of the histaminergic system through the blockade of histamine 3 (H3) autoreceptors promotes wakefulness. Blockade of H3 heteroreceptors modulates adrenergic, serotonergic, cholinergic, and dopaminergic systems. These properties of H3 receptors may offer therapeutic options for managing the symptoms of narcolepsy. Following the initial report of the clinical use of plasminogen activators (PAs) in cerebrovascular thrombosis in 1958, interest in the efficacy of this approach accelerated only when the need for acute intervention in stroke was recognized. The use of PAs in acute ischemic stroke is based on the observation that approximately 80-90% of focal cerebral ischemic events presenting as strokes within 8 hr of symptom onset are due to atherothrombotic and embolic occlusions.
