Among 136 patients with a history of angina pectoris who underwent selective coronary arteriography, two patients (1.4%) with a normal right coronary artery were found to have angiographically demonstrated communications between the various branches of the same coronary artery. Patients with phobic disorder (mainly agoraphobics ) of minimum one year duration were treated by self-administered exposure in vivo treatment. Seventy-one patients were randomly assigned to one of three groups: (A) book-instructed, (B) computer-instructed, or (C) therapist-instructed. The purpose of this study was to determine what effect further improvement in an Anger camera's intrinsic resolution has on lesion detection. We studied 52 patients undergoing bone imaging and 58 undergoing liver imaging. All patients had images performed in rapid sequence on ZLC -75 and ZLC -37 Anger cameras, both by Siemens. A technique is described for investigating tumors of the carotid body and glomus jugulare. The examination comprises an easily performed radionuclide angiogram, and has been used to investigate 30 patients. This technique demonstrated seven carotid-body tumours, including two unsuspected clinically, and one tumor of the glomus jugulare. We have investigated the thyroid uptake of Tl-201 in 37 patients with various types of goiter, and in six with normal thyroids. Significant thallium uptake was found in all cases in which there was thyroid enlargement, including Graves' disease, toxic thyroid nodule, primary hypothyroidism, simple goiter, Hashimoto's disease, thyroid carcinoma, and thyroid adenoma. If goiter was absent, however, there was no demonstrable uptake--e.g., in secondary hypothyroidism, subacute thyroiditis, and the normal controls. E. coli endotoxin was injected i.v. in rabbits (White New Zealands) on day 9 of gestation. The rise of temperatures was examined by thermoelectric recording. On day 29 of pregnancy the rabbits were killed, the uteri examined for resorptions and the fetuses inspected for malformations. The results were compared with those of control animals. A detailed evaluation is presented about the frequency and the type of arrhythmias following the surgical correction of 147 cases of atrial septal defects not associated with other congenital heart malformations. A total of 131 arrhythmias occurred in 84 patients. The nodal and the coronary sinus rhythms are the most frequently encountered after surgery, attaining 53,8% of all arrhythmias, while atrial fibrillation or flutter represented about 22%.
