AIMS AND BACKGROUND: The status of the axillary lymph nodes at the time of diagnosis has been accepted as one of the most important prognostic factors for the overall and disease-free survival of patients with breast cancer. Spinal cord injury (SCI) induces secondary brain pathology, but the mechanisms linking spinal and brain injury remain unclear. Here, we identify meningeal lymphatic dysfunction as a contributor to secondary brain pathology after SCI. Gorham's disease, also known as massive osteolysis, Gorham-Stout disease, vanishing bone disease, or, phantom bone disease is a rare disorder of the musculoskeletal system. Lymphatic anatomy of the abdomen is reviewed with focus on hepatic and mesenteric vessels in normal and pathologic conditions. Anatomy and pathophysiology is highlight using both specialized fluoroscopy and T2 Dynamic Contrast MR lymphangiography (DCMRL). Plastic bronchitis, chylothorax, protein losing enteropathy, and both cirrhosis and ascites due to hepatic lymphatics are highlighted. Localized lymphedema of the genital region is a rare medical condition. It is named primary lymphedema if caused by a congenital malformation of the lymphatic system. Secondary lymphedemas might be induced by exogenous damage to lymphatic vessels as a result of surgical interventions, obesity, filariasis, radiotherapy or malignancy. We report a case of localized lymphedema of the genial region for which a previously unknown urothelial carcinoma turned out to be the underlying cause.

This is a presentation of a case of tuberous sclerosis with multifocal hamartomas in the retroperitoneum, both kidneys, and the liver. Lymphangiectasia and numerous ectatic lymphatic channels penetrating through the retroperitoneal angiomyolipoma were demonstrated by lymphography and computed tomography. The findings in our study may document the presence of degenerative change in the lymphatic system--not just in elastic vessels--an association which has not yet been reported in the radiological literature.
