While phenols are frequent and convenient aryl sources in cross-coupling, typically as sulfonate esters, the direct cross-Ullmann coupling of two different sulfonate esters is unknown. We report here a general solution to this challenge catalyzed by a combination of Ni and Pd with Zn reductant and LiBr as an additive. A direct enantioselective vinylogous Mannich reaction of ketimines with γ-butenolide has been developed. Good yields and enantioselectivities were observed for the reaction of various ketimines by using a cinchona alkaloid amide/Zn(OTf)2 catalyst and Et3N. Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) with sudden deafness as the first symptom is clinically rare and easily overlooked. No conventional treatment for CML-associated sudden hearing loss exists and hearing outcomes remain poor. Tyrosine kinase domain mutations (TKDMs) plays an important role in prognosis of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). BACKGROUND: Management of a patient with an active pheochromocytoma and severe aortic stenosis remains controversial. Adrenalectomy for a pheochromocytoma poses a high risk for stroke, hypertensive emergency, and mortality, compounded by the cardiovascular instability of severe aortic stenosis.
