AIMS: Primary mediastinal germ cell tumours (PMGCTs) are rare mediastinal neoplasms, and their diagnosis can be challenging, owing to small biopsy samples. Foreign body aspiration into the airways is a common occurrence in inebriated conditions, paediatric age group and or loss of cough reflex. Acute symptoms, often times are recognized and medical assistance is sought. Subtle aspirations, unrecognized and stationed for longer time in the abode of airways pose variegated clinical picture. Changes of dietary habits, new food technology, international meals and increasing consumption of exotic food has changed the repartition of food allergens. Some food allergens are worrisome and symptoms severe (peanut and nut butters). Others are new and increase strongly: exotic fruits, sesame, mustard and lupin. Primary prevention include avoidance of such food in high risk infants. Product labeling must be improved.

This study evaluated the bioactive compounds, antioxidant activities, phenolic and flavonoid profiles, and amino acid composition of six plant-based milk alternatives (coconut, almond, cashew nut, soybean, peanut, and mung bean) and assessed their changes following in vitro digestion. BACKGROUND: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the nasopharynx (SCNEC-nasopharynx) is exceptionally rare and aggressive, with poorly characterized molecular features.
METHODS: Clinicopathological, immunohistochemical (synaptophysin, INSM1, chromogranin A, CK-pan, EGFR, NUT, INI1), and molecular profiles of 15 EBV-positive SCNEC-nasopharynx cases (2012-2025) were analysed. EBV status was confirmed by EBER-ISH. Exploratory next-generation sequencing compared nine SCNEC with five EBV-positive nasopharyngeal non-keratinizing carcinomas (NKUC).

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with multifactorial pathogenesis, in which dietary factors may play a role. This cross-sectional study evaluated dietary patterns in 71 HS patients in a Western population using the validated Rapid Prime Diet Quality Screener (rPDQS) and compared the results with those of a healthy historical US validation cohort representative of the Western diet. OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency of various foreign bodies (FBs) retrieved from the airway during bronchoscopy in children at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi, Pakistan.
STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional descriptive study.
PLACE AND DURATION: Department of Pediatrics Surgery, NICH, Karachi, Pakistan from June 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017.
METHODOLOGY: Patients referred from the ER and Pediatrics Medicine Department, NICH, Karachi with a suspicion of tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration (FBA) was included in the study.

Arecoline is the main component of the betel nut, and is associated with the occurrence and development of OSF through cytotoxicity, genotoxicity and DNA damage.
