Huntington's disease is an inherited neurodegenerative condition characterized by movement disorders, and mood and cognitive disturbance. Mammalian neurogenesis persists into adulthood in the subventricular zone and dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. In the rabbit model of Streptococcus pneumoniae meningitis, treatment with rifabutin, quinupristin-dalfopristin, moxifloxacin and trovafloxacin led to smaller increases of the CSF concentrations of the pro-inflammatory cell wall components lipoteichoic and teichoic acids (LTA and TA) than did treatment with ceftriaxone. Portal hypertension (PH) is a common complication of chronic liver disease, and it determines most complications leading to death or liver transplantation in patients with liver cirrhosis.
