A rare case of neuroendocrine carcinoma of the skin in a 83-year-old male Japanese was reported. Histological, electron microscopical and cytological studies were performed on the surgically removed tumor tissue and the cultured tissue. The tumor occurred at the junction of the dermis and subcutaneous tissue of the right elbow, and spread to the right brachial region and axilla. Cytogenetic, pathologic, and immunologic studies were done on 10 patients with lymphoblastic lymphoma (LL). The median age was 21 years, and males predominated in a ratio of 9:1. At the time of diagnosis, 6 of the 10 patients had an anterior mediastinal mass, 3 had bone marrow involvement, and 2 had central nervous system involvement. Blast cells from 24 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia of Burkitt's cell type were studied for lymphocyte surface markers.
