OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that preexisting lung disease is a risk factor for the development of methotrexate (MTX) pneumonitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with low dose MTX.
METHODS: We measured the proportion of patients with and without preexisting lung disease who developed MTX pneumonitis in a historical cohort from a university affiliated rheumatology private practice in Chicago. Patients comprised 93 women and 32 men with RA treated with MTX for any period of time between January, 1980 and July, 1989.

The clinical records of nine patients, followed at the University of Chicago, with mycosis fungoides (MF) and neurologic deficits due to direct CNS involvement were reviewed. Alzheimer's disease manifests with both cognitive and motor deficits. However, the degree to which genetic risk of Alzheimer's dementia contributes to late-life motor impairment, and the specific molecular systems underlying these associations, are uncertain. Adolescents with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are at an increased risk for substance use but the pathways through which this risk emerges are insufficiently understood. Records were reviewed on all patients with mucopolysaccharidosis type II (Hunter syndrome) seen at a single institution from 1999 to 2013 to identify those with a history of neonatal intensive care. Eleven of 34 patients were in a neonatal intensive care unit and all had respiratory distress with 8 diagnoses of respiratory distress syndrome and 3 of transient tachypnea of the newborn. None of the infants were premature; four were delivered by cesarean section.
