INTRODUCTION: To report the effect of topical latanoprost on the position of a subluxated lens.
CASE PRESENTATION: After 0.005% latanoprost was administered topically to a patient with ocular hypertension due to a pseudoexfoliation syndrome and a subluxated lens, the position of the lens was examined by slit-lamp biomicroscopy, and the ciliary body thickness by ultrasound biomicroscopy. The lens had moved posteriorly, and the thickness of the ciliary body had decreased after the latanoprost.

Ciliary Body excision for the treatment of intractable glaucoma has been performed in 64 eyes (75 operations) between 1975 and 1985. High myopia can make pars plana vitrectomy technically challenging because axial elongation may increase the distance between the conventional trocar insertion site and the posterior pole. Hyalocytes in the pecten oculi and ciliary body of adult chickens and their response to Escherichia coli were investigated by transmission and scanning electron microscopy and the inflammatory response following the intravitreous injection of colloidal carbon examined by microscopy. We conducted a histopathological study of the anterior segments of the eye of a female who died 2 years after insertion of an intraocular lens (IOL), which had one end of the supporting loop inserted in the lens capsule bag and the other in the ciliary sulcus.
