Intranasal metoclopramide is a new formulation of an established and effective antiemetic drug. Absorption after intranasal administration was lower than after oral or intravenous administration; otherwise the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic profiles of the intranasal and parenteral formulations were similar. In a controlled, randomized trial in 45 cataract operations a new synthetic absorbable suture (8-0 monofilament Vicryl, made by Ethicon), was compared with monofilament nylon or virgin silk normally used.
