Affinity labeling of iodinated neuropeptide Y (NPY) to bovine hippocampal binding proteins revealed that benextramine inhibited specific NPY labeling of the 50 kDa NPY binding protein (Y2 binding protein) in a dose-dependent manner (IC50 = 33 microM). Hippocampal membranes, which were pretreated with benextramine and washed, exhibited decreased [125I]NPY labeling of binding proteins in a similar dose-dependent manner. The expression of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) receptors on normal human B cells and four B cell lines was studied. Recombinant human IFN-gamma was labeled with [gamma-32P]ATP using the catalytic subunit of a cAMP-dependent protein kinase. The structure of bovine somatotropin receptor was examined following covalent coupling of iodinated recombinant bovine growth hormone ([125I]rbGH) to bovine liver membrane receptors using ethylene glycol bis(succinimidyl succinate). In the present study we have used the alkaline elution technique to study the effect of misonidazole (MISO) on the initial amount of DNA cross-linking in various normal and neoplastic tissues of C3H mice treated with nitrogen mustard (HN2) in vivo.
