OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that more bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis (BPS/IC) cases than controls report pre-onset urinary symptoms.
METHODS: In a risk factor study, the date of BPS/IC onset (index date) was systematically determined in 312 female incident cases; the mean age at onset was 42.3 years. Frequency-matched controls were compared on pre-index date medical history.

Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare inflammatory disorder. We herein report a case of EC in an asthmatic female patient who had a recent exacerbation with none known allergen. She was administered montelukast sodium orally for four weeks and received complete remission. This medication was successfully discontinued after a three-month follow up period. This case report about successful treatment of an adult EC patient using montelukast sodium may provide a new option for EC patients with allergic history.

PURPOSE: Multiple studies have demonstrated that in healthy subjects, painful stimuli applied to one part of the body inhibit pain sensation in other parts of the body, a phenomenon referred to as conditioned pain modulation. Conditioned pain modulation is related to the presence of endogenous pain control systems. Studies have demonstrated deficits in conditioned pain modulation associated inhibition in many but not all chronic pain disorders. In this study we determine whether conditioned pain modulation is altered in subjects with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome.

Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC) is the most common cause of feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS: The objectives of this study are to investigate myofascial pain in patients with interstitial cystitis (IC) and to correlate myofascial exam findings with validated questionnaires.

Cystitis affect many of the pregnant women and are associated with pyelonephritis and preterm labor. Adequate antimicrobial therapy combined with no antibiotics like Neorenal SR could prevent most of these serious complications.
