OBJECTIVE: Despite the widespread use of cyanoacrylate glue (CA) as an alternative for wound closure, its potential as a sole skin substitute material in periocular skin surgery remains unexplored. The primary objective was to determine the viability of CA as a sole skin substitute in periocular skin surgery after excision.
DESIGN: Single-centre retrospective observational case series.
METHODS: All patients were treated at the McGill University Health Centre from August 2023 to November 2023, where CA served as the sole skin substitute material after periocular skin excision.

Genitourinary melanoma accounts for 0.1-0.2% of melanoma, the scrotum being its rarest location. We report about an 85-year-old patient who was referred to our outpatient clinic due to the presence of a scrotum black papule for 20 months. Wide local excision was performed, and histology revealed a malignant melanoma. Chest and abdominal CT revealed metastatic disease, so chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy were administered. We describe the evolution over 1 year in this unusual location, as well as complications and the currently available therapeutic options to cure this disease.

Granulomatous cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) and lymphomatoid granulomatosis are considered granulomatous lymphoproliferative disorders. The most common types of granulomatous CTCL are granulomatous mycosis fungoides and granulomatous slack skin. Lymphomatoid granulomatosis is a rare Epstein-Barr virus driven lymphoproliferative disorder. This article reviews the etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation, systemic associations, and management of both granulomatous slack skin syndrome and lymphomatoid granulomatosis.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the appearance of the skin incision in external dacryocystorhinostomy 6 weeks and 6 months after surgery.
METHODS: A prospective, interventional, noncomparative case series of consecutive cases of external dacryocystorhinostomy was performed by 3 surgeons. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility of the composite transplantation of 1:3 meshed split-thickness autograft and acellular heterologous (porcine) dermal matrix.
METHODS: 9 inpatients with full thickness skin burn or hypertrophic scar were selected in this study. After the eschar or scar was excised, the wound was covered with acellular heterologous dermal matrix. Then the meshed (1:3) split-thickness autologous skin sheet was grafted on the dermal matrix. Before dressing up, the radiated pigskin was placed on the composite transplants.

After reviewing the history and technique used for transureteral cutaneous ureterostomy, the authors describe 5 cases treated by this method during the 3-year period, 1975--1977. Between 1971 and 1977, 40 patients with orbital hypertelorism were operated on by the craniofacial team in Toronto. Results have improved as a result of this experience. Cutaneous ureterostomy is a simple procedure to perform but is attended by high morbidity owing to recurring abscesses, strictures and stenosis of the stoma. An improved technique applied to the diversion of 4 normal renal units and 3 dilated ureters is described. We have not experienced the complications mentioned in previous studies and none of the patients has required ureteral intubation in this small series with a 3-year followup.

AIM: Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is the most commonly diagnosed and most costly cancer in Australasia. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) accounts for approximately 25% of NMSC. Despite this, reporting of cSCC is not mandatory in Australasia. This creates difficulties in planning, resourcing and improving outcomes in cSCC.
