The case report is describing patient with an autoimmune disease, Pemphigus Vulgaris. This patient arrived to the general practitioner with Pemphigus Vulgaris after 20 days from the first manifestation of the disease. Despite intensive care, patient dies forty-seventh day after first clinical manifestation of the illness of candidemia. Candidiasis was diagnosed only in postmortem examination.

A diarrheic young cat died after neurological involvement. Biochemistry pointed to feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). The final diagnosis was severe multifocal meningoencephalitis due to Toxoplasma gondii. The presence of the parasite in the brain was confirmed using immunohistochemical staining. Concomitant feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and FIP were possible contributors to the clinical, fatal outcome.

Vascular stenosis is a relatively uncommon and often fatal sequela of mediastinal fibrosis. There are very few reports in the medical literature of endovascular treatment for concomitant bilateral pulmonary artery stenoses and superior vena cava syndrome. The paper describes a clinical case of pneumocystis pneumonia in the presence of generalized tuberculosis in a female patient with HIV infection. The lack of prevention of pneumocystosis and its late diagnosis and treatment resulted in a fatal outcome. The problem of early clinical diagnosis in the concurrent course of secondary involvements is discussed.

BACKGROUND: Mycosis fungoides has numerous clinical presentations.
METHODS: We present two cases in which mycosis fungoides clinically mimicked reticular erythematous mucinosis.
RESULTS: Both patients had extracutaneous involvement. One had a fatal outcome.
CONCLUSIONS: We suggest that full systemic evaluation be performed at the time of presentation of patients with this variant of mycosis fungoides.

Protozoan infections with a mild or asymptomatic course in immunocompetent individuals, in the case of immunocompromised patients could cause severe syndromes or fatal outcome. The different clinical course is possible to diagnose only with specific laboratory methods. Pulmonary mucormycosis is a usually fatal opportunistic infection in immunocompromised patients. We describe the first case of an adult patient with hematological malignancy and profound neutropenia to survive a disseminated pulmonary Rhizomucor pusillus infection. Early diagnostic procedures combined with high doses of liposomal amphotericin B and surgical resection may have contributed to the successful outcome.

Unexpected subarachnoid hemorrhage with a fatal outcome was seen in two patients in intensive care in association with trauma and an intracranial inflammatory abscess. The cause of SAH was disclosed at autopsy: traumatic and bacterial aneurysms of the basilar artery respectively. In the reported cases the symptoms of SAH did not suggest an origin.

A case of a febrile malignant hyperthermia in a patient who was undergoing surgical treatment of recurrent traumatic bone cyst of mandible is presented. M. Two children suffering from systemic juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA) complicated by acute disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) are described. One had a fatal outcome with acute renal failure and cerebral haemorrhage; the other recovered. Early recognition and treatment of the underlying cause - usually an infection - as well as replacement of clotting factors are important in management.

CONCLUSIONS: Breakthrough cases of IPD may involve nonvaccine isolates, and seem to occur after 5 years of age when oral penicillin prophylaxis has been terminated.

BACKGROUND: Herein, we report the first case of toxic epidermal necrosis due to oral fusidic acid having a fatal outcome.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: An 82-year-old woman was referred to our dermatology department for generalized bullous skin eruption. INTRODUCTION: Plasma cell leukaemia is a rare disorder that usually carries an aggressive course with a rapidly fatal outcome. A variety of chromosomal abnormalities have been reported in plasma cell leukaemia but the clinical significance of an abnormal karyotype is still unclear.
