The biopsy specimens of the Department of Oral Pathology, Dental School, UMBC, between 1985-1988 were reviewed in 1990 and. 124 cases of giant cell fibroma (GCF) of oral mucosa were found. GCF may develop at any age, but the highest incidence is middle adult life. GCF is slightly common in female than in male (1: 0.85). A case of the patent urachus associated with abdominal abscess was reported. A 44-year-old woman was consulted to our clinic with the complaints of bladder irritability and discharge from the navel on October 27, 1987. A fist-sized tumor around the umbilicus was pointed out and the cystography from the umbilicus demonstrated that the contrast medium reached to the urinary bladder. Subungual Bowen's disease and squamous cell carcinoma are not as rare as has been implied by earlier literature. The course of the lesions is protracted. The clinical presentation and histologic appearance of three cases of laryngeal rheumatoid nodules are the subject of this report. In one of these cases, the lesions differed from the classic appearance of the rheumatoid nodule in that they were strongly reminiscent of granulation tissue or a pyogenic granuloma. RATIONALE: Lobular capillary haemangioma (LCH), also known as a pyogenic granuloma, is a benign vascular tumour that can appear in the oral cavity but its occurrence in the buccal mucosa is relatively rare.
PATIENT CONCERNS: A 7-year-old girl presented with a painless, gradually enlarging lesion on the right buccal mucosa, associated with bleeding and swelling.
DIAGNOSIS: Clinical evaluation and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of LCH.
TREATMENT AND OUTCOMES: The lesion was surgically excised under local anaesthesia. Healing was uneventful, with no recurrence over a 6-month follow-up.

Capillary haemangiomas are well-circumscribed aggregates of closely packed, thin-walled capillaries separated by connective tissue stroma. In subcutaneous tissue they are termed pyogenic granuloma and commonly follow trauma. They rarely occur in the spine. PURPOSE: To present a combined interventional radiologic and resection technique for the management of a large amblyogenic, highly vascular lesion of the lower eyelid associated with severe mechanical ectropion, conjunctival pyogenic granuloma, and recurrent, spontaneous conjunctival bleeding.
METHODS: Preoperative selective embolization and coil placement were followed by resection of the tumor.
RESULTS: Embolization, coil placement, and resection were uneventful with cosmetic and functional visual improvement obtained. Pathology indicated a noninvoluting congenital hemangioma.

We reviewed the histologic features of 105 cases of contact ulcers of the larynx. Despite its characteristic clinical findings and correlative histopathology, the appropriate diagnosis was suggested in only one case. Instead, a descriptive diagnosis was most often rendered. Lesions for which this entity has been mistaken include pyogenic granuloma, hemangioma, hemangiopericytoma, Kaposi's sarcoma, angiosarcoma, spindle cell carcinoma, and granulomatous infectious diseases.
