BACKGROUND: An infected urachal cyst is an uncommon finding in adults.
AIM: To report a case of a sigmoid- urachal- cutaneous fistula.
CASE REPORT: A 51 years old adult male presented with fecaloid leaking from rupture of an infected urachal cyst. Definitive management consisted of resection of the urachus with a bladder cuff, along with removal of the affected bowel segments.
CONCLUSION: Colo-urachal-cutaneous fistula is a rare condition; its management is rather complex.

OBJECTIVES: To report one outstanding case of fever and flank pain with the radiologic finding of air outlining the whole left upper urinary tract (pneumopyelography).
METHODS: The patient subject of this case had a history of gynaecologic surgery five years before presentation and subsequent diverticulitis one year later requiring discharge colostomy followed by reconstruction 7 months later. We performed a MEDLINE search using the terms "entero urinary fistula". Most papers are case reports with reviews of the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as the etiologic factors.

We report a case of gastrocolic fistula following a benign gastric ulcer, which is now a truly exceptional finding, due to the widespread use of H2-receptor antagonists and proton- pump inhibitors. A review of the literature shows that this condition warrants a complete diagnostic work-up to exclude more ominous underlying diseases. Careful attention to the symptoms of peptic ulcer and particular care with patients undergoing long-term treatments with drugs potentially harmful for the stomach are recommended.

In this study, the case has been reported of a left renocolic fistula that was detected in a patient with hepatitis C and cirrhotic complications who was hospitalized for urogenital tuberculosis. It was decided to perform left nephrectomy and digestive suture, but surgery was delayed due to hemostatic abnormalities and massive cytolysis, and the patient died before surgical treatment, three days after the discovery of the fistula. The findings in the literature have been reviewed, and the common occurrence of this type of fistula has been underlined. They are the most frequently encountered ty

PURPOSE: Use of 3-dimensional tomographic reconstruction in evaluating colovesical fistulas is discussed.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We compared 3-dimensional computerized tomographic (CT) images of colovesical fistulas to conventional CT images.
RESULTS: Successful surgical repair was facilitated by preoperative radiographic data.
CONCLUSIONS: Three-dimensional CT reconstruction provides superior spacial detail and can clarify complex anatomical relationships preoperatively.

Diagnostic radiology has assumed an increasingly prominent role in the diagnosis, investigation, and treatment of gastrointestinal fistulas during the past 15 years. This development largely has been the result of the application of computed tomography and ultrasonography to the diagnosis of intra-abdominal inflammatory processes and the use of these cross-sectional imaging modalities to guide percutaneous abscess drainage by the interventional radiologist. Effective percutaneous techniques have been developed that allow many gastrointestinal fistulas to be managed nonoperatively with less mor…

A unique case of haematemesis due to a pyloroduodenal ulcer caused by an erosion by a 3 cm gallstone impacted in the duodenal bulb is presented. This is the first case where the localisation of a severe haemorrhage due to a complication of a duodenal biliary fistula is identified.

Spontaneous development of a gastrocolic fistula following a benign unoperated gastric ulcer is a rare complication. This complication seems to occur more frequently, however, as a side-effect of increased use of anti-inflammatory medication. A 61-year-old woman developed abdominal pain and diarrhoea, and lost weight, after several years of treatment with indomethacin. During diagnostic endoscopy the gastroscope unexpectedly passed to the transverse colon through a relatively large ulcerous gastrocolic fistula. The patient was successfully treated by en bloc resection of the stomach and transv

A newborn with a patent omphalomesenteric duct is described in this report. This anomaly is a very rare one. Regression of the omphalomesenteric duct occurs as a normal embryonic event in the intrauterine life between the fifth and ninth week of gestation; however, in this case regression occurred spontaneously in the neonatal period and resulted in a Meckel's diverticulum with no connection with the umbilicus. This is the first case to be reported.

A case of colovesical fistula in a 51-year-old male patient is described. The connection, between the base of the bladder and the rectosigmoid junction, was caused by an appendicitis in the tip of a pelvic appendix which had perforated into the bladder and rectosigmoid. There was no appendicovesical fistula connecting with the caecum.
