Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIP) is an uncommon disorder that may be of primary or secondary origin. We report a case of a 37-year-old woman with CIP due to inflammatory disorder of unknown origin involving the skin (eosinophilic fasciitis), the lungs (decreased diffusion capacity) and the gastrointestinal tract. We herein present a case of recurrence of gastric cancer in the jejunal pouch after total gastrectomy in a 74-year-old man. He had a history of two operations for gastric cancer. The second operation was a completion gastrectomy with jejunal pouch reconstruction and regional lymphadenectomy, for gastric cancer in the cardia of the remnant stomach, performed 2 years and 9 months before the present admission. Benign esophageal schwannomas are rare tumors with only 14 cases reported in the English literature. All previous reports describe excision without major esophageal resection. We report the case of a 33-year-old woman with a giant esophageal schwannoma that required total thoracic esophagectomy.

BACKGROUND: Anatomical variations in right liver lobe are common. However, clinical implications and surgical management of these variations in living donor liver transplantation have not been analyzed systematically.
METHODS: Surgical anatomy of vascular and biliary structures in 120 right lobe grafts were reevaluated by reviewing the results of preoperative (computerized tomography and Doppler ultrasonography) and intraoperative (cholangiography) imaging as well as surgical findings. We report a case of choledochal cyst accompanied by an adenoid gallbladder carcinoma, in an adult patient. Diagnosis was complicated by coexisting primary hyperparathyroidism. PURPOSE: To assess the efficacy and safety of radiologically guided percutaneous placement of gastrostomy and gastrojejunostomy catheters.
