BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: The occurrence of shoulder or neck pain in overhead sports is nontraumatic because of chronic overuse, biomechanical variability, and repetitive impaired techniques adapted during the performance. Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) is of both acute and chronic types and is caused by repetitive movements, microtrauma to muscle fibres, and faulty postures. MPS can cause pain, decrease the Range of Motion (ROM), and influence the Overhead Athletes' (OA) performance. The present study aimed to estimate the prevalence of MPS among OA with neck and shoulder pain.

BACKGROUND AND AIM: The broiler farming industry in Indonesia has enormous potential, with chicken meat that can be optimized by providing adequate and high-quality feed. However, the main raw material for the feed still relies on imported products, which makes it necessary to produce alternative materials from native plants. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of giving Goloba kusi fruit (GF) (Hornstedtia scottiana [F. Muell.] K. Schum.) on the growth of the small intestine, pectoralis major, and gastrocnemius muscle, as well as the development of broiler chickens.

OBJECTIVE: to evaluate the results of the use of the pectoralis major flap in the reconstruction of head and neck surgeries.
METHODS: we conducted a retrospective study with data bank analysis and review of medical records of patients with head and neck cancer operated at the Discipline of Head and Neck Surgery, Surgery Department, São Paulo Holy Home of Mercy, using the pectoralis major flap for reconstruction, in a period of 16 years.
