OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the accuracy of oblique view extended imaging (OVEI) in locating the position of the fetal conus medullaris.
METHODS: One hundred and twenty-two normal fetuses and five counterparts with spinal bifida received prenatal ultrasound examination. The vertebral body at the terminal of the conus medullaris and the coronal section of over five vertebral bodies were reconstructed using OVEI. BACKGROUND: Pseudo aneurysm (PSA) of femoral artery is the second common post puncture complication. If PSA is less than 18 mm, it can be closed spontaneously and it can be asymptomatic. If not, it needs treatment. The most common non invasive method used in the treatment is ultrasound guided compression (UGC) with duplex color Doppler. UNLABELLED: INTRODUCTION Fetal anemia is usually diagnosed by invasive procedures, such as amniocentesis and cordocentesis. As these procedures carry a substantial risk for pregnancy loss, a nonivasive method for diagnosing fetal anemia is needed. Doppler allows measurement of blood flow velocity in fetal vessels. In anemic fetuses increased velocities in medial cerebral artery (MCA) are registered. The aim of our study was to evaluate if there were changes in blood flow waveforms in anemic fetuses' MCA, and if these changes correlated with values of fetal hematological parameters.

Schistosoma (S.) mekongi is causing intestinal and hepatosplenic schistosomiasis in some South East Asian countries located along the Mekong river. Ultrasonography is the point of care method of choice for detecting and staging hepatosplenic morbidity due to schistosomiasis. BACKGROUND: Severe side effects after vaccination with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines are rare but can be fatal. To date, vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) cases have been reported after injection of mRNA and adenoviral vectors COVID-19 vaccines. Here, we report the second suspected case of VITT after vaccination with the Sinopharm vaccine, an inactive vaccine.

PURPOSE: To compare the efficacy of thrombolysis with and without predilation of the inferior vena cava (IVC) for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) with old IVC thrombosis.
METHODS: We divided 40 patients with BCS with old IVC thrombosis into 2 groups, group A (n = 21), thrombolysis after dilation of the obstructed IVC and group B (n = 19), thrombolysis without predilation of the obstructed IVC. Thrombolysis was performed via urokinase administration through the dorsal vein of the foot.
