Iris melanomas are less likely to metastasize than ciliary body or choroidal melanomas. In order to study this difference in metastatic rate, we developed a murine model of anterior chamber (AC) and posterior compartment (PC) melanoma. Eighteen C57BL6 mice were inoculated in the AC (n = 6) or PC (n = 12) with B16F10 melanoma cells and eleven mice were inoculated in the AC (n = 3) or PC (n = 8) with Queens melanoma cells. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an artificial intelligence (AI) model for detecting and measuring choroidal mass dimensions on B-scan ophthalmic ultrasound images.
METHODS: The study included 1822 still images and 130 cine loops of choroidal masses. For external validation, 180 additional still images were included, along with 374 control images to assess specificity. A two-stage U-Net-based architecture was trained to detect masses and measure dimensions. For cine loops, the algorithm automatically selected the frame with the largest mass cross-sectional area.

PURPOSE: To report the long-term outcomes of patients with small, pigmented, posteriorly located choroidal melanoma undergoing primary treatment using photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin at the London Ocular Oncology Service.
DESIGN: Retrospective, interventional, consecutive case series.
PARTICIPANTS: All patients undergoing primary treatment using PDT with verteporfin from April 2014 to December 2015 and followed until December 2019.
METHODS: This is a long-term follow-up study of the same cohort of patients previously reported by our group in 2017 and 2018.

An 82-year-old white man was referred for a suspected inferior pigmented, choroidal melanoma in his left eye. The patient stated that his left eye had been hit by a tree branch approximately 40 years prior, and he had not been able to see with it since then. Dilated fundus examination revealed a 14 × 8 mm dark, dome-shaped choroidal mass located inferiorly. Transillumination of the eye revealed no defects. Ultrasonography revealed a hollow lesion, consistent with a senile, dark dislocated cataract.

The electro-oculogram in 52 patients with a suspected malignant melanoma of the choroid or ciliary body was plotted in a diagram constructed for the differential diagnosis of malignant melanoma, metastasis, naevus and retinal detachment. The authors present two cases of large meningiomas of the lateral ventricle. In both cases the first diagnosis of the disease was cerebral ischaemia. Tumours did not produce symptome of intracranial hypertension, and the most common symptoms of these tumours - hemianopia and papilloedema - were also not observed. Both tumours did not originate from the choroid plexus, probably developing from the tela conjunctiva of the vessels.

We examined by light and electron microscopy five melanocytomas from four patients. Two types of cells were observed in each tumor. The predominant cell type in most of the tumors studied consisted of plump polyhedral nevus cells that contained numerous giant melanosomes. These cells showed advanced differentiation.
