Triamcinolone acetonide (TAC) has a potent teratogenic effect on various mammalian fetal tissues as well as a steroid effect on the lung. Less well documented is the fact that it produces profound oligohydramnios. The laryngopyocele is a rare complication of laryngocele. About one case of laryngopyocele and review of literature, the authors recall the main characteristics of this affection. Its clinical picture is often alarming. The CT scan, not often made emmergenceley, give a characteristic image. The authors report the case of a 70-year-old female patient presenting with nausea, epigastric pain, anorexia and a loss of weight. An aortography showed a compression of the celiac trunk. The patient became asymptomatic and her clinical condition improved after surgical release of the celiac trunk by section of the arcuate ligament of the diaphragm. A preliminary attempt at percutaneous transluminal angioplasty proved unsuccessful.

PURPOSE: To compare routine pelvic and transperineal scanning in the ultrasonographic (US) diagnosis of posterior urethral valve (PUV).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Longitudinal and transverse transperineal views were obtained in addition to routine renal and transvesicle views in the prospective US evaluation of 10 male infants (aged 2 days to 6 weeks) clinically suspected of having PUV. In 41 patients with deep vein thrombosis which had been demonstrated by duplex sonography, non-enhanced CT was performed at various levels before phlebography was carried out. Clots judged clinically to be fresh (1-7 days) show predominantly hyperdense thrombus material (60-80 Hu). Thirty-eight kidneys from 20 children were studied with diuretic renography and the findings in 32 kidneys were compared with the results obtained using IVP. The diuretic renography findings were consistent with those of the IVP in 72 percent of the patients. The main disparity was the dilated nonobstructed pattern observed in the kidneys with normal IVP's, which is pointed out as being an asset of diuretic renography in revealing the functional status of kidneys. A case of vascular lesion of angiodysplastic type in the pyloric part of the stomach has been reported in a patient with chronic viral hepatitis. The diagnosis was made from clinical symptoms, endoscopic and histopathologic findings in the specimens obtained during gastroscopy. Many authors emphasize a correlation between the incidence of "gastric antral vascular ectasia" and liver diseases, especially cirrhosis with portal hypertension. A review of bibliography with particular consideration of its etiology has been presented.
