A 67-year-old woman presented with complaints of poor vision and persistent redness in the right eye of 4 months duration. After enucleation, a spherical implant of some material is placed into the muscle cone to give bulk to the orbital socket area. In rats and hamsters all parts of the superior colliculus (SC) receive a topographically organized projection from the retina of the contralateral eye, and the rostral part also has a direct input from the lower temporal crescent of the ipsilateral retina, which views the central, binocular portion of the visual field. Initially the uncrossed projection covers the entire SC, but over the first 2 weeks of postnatal life it becomes progressively restricted to its adult distribution. However, if the opposite eye is removed at birth there is a persistent widespread uncrossed projection to the SC.

AIM: To detect the immunohistopathology of necrotising scleritis.
METHODS: Immunohistochemical staining was performed on two groups of enucleated eyes with necrotising scleritis (systemic autoimmune disease and idiopathic scleritis). Deparaffinised sections were stained with CD3, CD20, CD68, CD8, CD4 and dendritic reticulum cells (DRC).
RESULTS: Within the autoimmune group, about 43% of inflammatory cells stained positive with CD20, 35% with CD68, 17% with CD3, 8% with CD8, 4% with DRC and less than 1% with CD4. Within the idiopathic group of eyes, about 43% of cells stained positive for CD6

To describe the natural history and management of an acute angle closure secondary to choroidal melanoma. A 70-year-old female presented with pain, elevated intraocular pressure, mature cataract, and angle closure in right eye. With further studies she was found to have a choroidal melanoma causing the acute angle closure. We report a case of trifocal choroidal melanoma (three separate tumors) in a 48-year-old Caucasian female who had been followed for oculodermal melanocytosis since childhood. At presentation, no tumor was present and annual examination was advised. Seventeen years later, three choroidal melanocytic lesions were detected in the right eye. Report on a case of a total serous retinal detachment which manifested itself by inflammation and rise in tension. It was associated with an undefinable tumour of the posterior portion of the eye which had become visible after puncture of the subretinal fluid. PURPOSE: To evaluate the changes in the rates and indications of eye removal procedures during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
METHODS: The medical records of all patients who underwent eye removal from 2007 to 2022 were retrospectively reviewed. The patient demographic data and indications for surgery were collected. Data from two groups of patients (prepandemic surgery and postpandemic surgery) were compared. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
RESULTS: Fifty-nine patients underwent enucleation (69%), evisceration (27%), or exenteration (3%). The mean (SD) age of the patients was 55.
