Duodenal follicular lymphoma (DFL) is a rare variety of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract that usually carries a favorable course, recognized as a new entity in 2016. Anisakiasis is an emerging marine food-borne zoonosis resulting from the accidental ingestion of Anisakis larvae, through the consumption of raw or undercooked infected seafood products. The first case of human gastric hyperinfection by Anisakis simplex with an unusual and severe presentation, occurring in a Portuguese woman, is described in this article. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the dynamic expression of pepsinogen C (PGC) and its value in detection of precursor and gastric cancer.
METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of PGC in 424 biopsy specimens of stomach mucosa collected by gastroscopy.
RESULTS: The positive rate of PGC expression in 54 cases of normal gastric mucosa was 100% and 2.4% in 124 cases of gastric cancer. The positive rate of PGC expression decreased in the order of superficial gastritis/gastric ulcer or erosion-->atrophic gastritis or gastric dysplasia-->gastric cancer (P < 0.01).

Comparing with malignant lesions or peptic ulcers benign gastric tumors are rare. From 916 patients with gastric diseases, who underwent laparatomy between 1980 and 1993 in the Surgical Department at the University of Cologne, we found only 15 cases (1.6%) of benign gastric tumors. Stuart's transport medium with a charcoal impregnated swab was tested for transport of biopsies from the gastric antrum for culture of Helicobacter pylori. Biopsies were cultured under microaerophilic conditions either within 2 h or after a delay of 24 h at 4 degrees C. In 65 patients referred for gastroscopy two biopsies were taken.
