Tinea manuum is a dermatophytosis which is often mistaken for other keratodermas, especially palmar psoriasis and chronic hand eczema. We report the use of dermoscopy as a diagnostic aid in a case of tinea manuum. The dermoscopic clue turned out to be the presence of whitish scaling located mainly in the furrows. This aspect has never been seen in other keratodermas and therefore can be considered as a useful finding to assist in the recognition of tinea manuum.

Chromomycosis is a chronic fungal skin infection. It manifests frequently by warty or vegetative lesions in exposed areas, most often secondary to trauma. The diagnosis, nevertheless, is confirmed by the presence of fungi in the mycological examination. In fact, the treatment remains a challenge given its recalcitrant nature.

Fusarium species are non-dermatophytic moulds, which are commonly known soil saprophytes and important plant pathogens, and have been frequently reported to be aetiological agents of opportunistic infections in humans. The prevalence of onychomycosis caused by Fusarium species varies in the literature because of geographical differences in mould distribution and diagnostic methods. Onychomycosis caused by Fusarium species is considered rare in Korea, and only four cases have been described to date. Pseudomonas aeruginosa also can infect nails and cause green nail syndrome, and recent research

BACKGROUND: Identification of putative contact allergen and source material is often done by a combination of patch testing and manufacturer-supplied product information. The accuracy of the identification of allergen-source material and level of allergen in that allergen-source material is not known.
OBJECTIVE: The objectives of the study were to survey the chemical allergen content of glove allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) patient-identified problem and nonproblem gloves and to evaluate the ability of the patient to discriminate between problem and nonproblem gloves.
METHODS: Gloves from

This article presents a case of a chronic, nonhealing thumb wound in a patient with diabetes mellitus. A 67-year-old right-hand-dominant man presented with progressive erythema and swelling of the right thumb several months after sustaining a paper cut along the eponychium. The patient had already completed an extensive laboratory evaluation, including bacterial and fungal cultures, as well as a punch biopsy that was inconclusive. In addition, the patient underwent several rounds of empiric antibiotic therapy without resolution of his symptoms. Despite these measures, the patient's thumb wound

Uncommon forms of pityriasis rosea (PR) are found in a not inconsiderable proportion of patients (totaling approximately 20%) and predominantly affect children and young adults. They are characterized by atypical morphology and distribution of the primary medallion or also of the subsequent exanthematous individual lesions. The etiology of PR is not yet known. It is possible that the underlying cause of PR is viral in origin.

Chromomycosis is primarily a skin disease that superficially presents as slowly growing, verrucous lesions, often warty or cauliflower-like in appearance. It may occasionally create a flat, plaque-like lesion in the skin but deep-seated tumorous presentation has not previously been reported. As the lesion is limited to the cutaneous and superficial subcutaneous tissues, hitherto reported cases have been described from the view point of dermatology and, so, without MRI study. We report a patient with pathologically proven chromomycosis that produced a subcutaneous mass in the dorsum of the hand
