[Management of complex medication regimes in chronic illness - challenges and support needs from the health professional's view].

While chronic illness are mostly treated with pharmaceutical means, the management of medication regimes in everyday life often remains inadequate, especially for elderly people. In Germany, most efforts to change this situation focus on the role of physicians or pharmacists respectively. In contrast, this study concentrates on home care nurses and posits their potential to improve the management of complex medication regimes. To explore the professional's view 26 expert interviews with representatives of the different healthcare professions were conducted and analysed. The results indicate th

The significant other history: an interpersonal-emotional history procedure used with the early-onset chronically depressed patient.

An interpersonal-emotional history procedure, the Significant Other History, is administered to the early-onset chronically depressed patient during the second therapy session in the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP). Patients are asked to name up to six significant others and answer two questions: (1) What was it like growing up with or being around this person? (2) What is the emotional "stamp" you take from this relationship that informs who you are today? An interpersonal-emotional theme reflecting the early learning history of the patient is derived from these

Race- and ethnicity-specific patient-provider relationship characteristics associated with antiretroviral therapy adherence and viral suppression among minority women with HIV, Miami-Dade County, Florida, 2021-2022.

We conducted a cross-sectional study to examine the associations between items of the patient-provider relationship measures and antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence and viral suppression within each of three ethnic groups of women with HIV (WHIV) - Hispanic, Haitian, and African American - using data from 542 WHIV enrolled in the Miami-Dade County Ryan White Program. Univariate and multivariable logistic regression models were applied for each patient-provider relationship variable, stratified by race/ethnicity. Overall, 71.9% of participants were adherent to ART, and 91.2% had suppressed v

Mental Illness Attributions and Their Association With Psychotherapy Change Process Expectations.

INTRODUCTION: Although researchers have extensively studied expectations, we know little about their associations with individuals' perceptions of illness. In this study, we explored whether individuals' expectations of psychotherapy were associated with their mental illness attributions. METHODS: Participants ( N =291) completed the Mental Illness Attribution Questionnaire (MIAQ) and the Expectations of Active Processes in Psychotherapy Scale (EAPPS). We utilized linear regressions to evaluate their associations while adjusting for potential confounders. RESULTS: The belief that mental illn

Speech and Language Therapists' Views and Experiences of Working With People With Wernicke's Aphasia: A Qualitative Interview Study.

BACKGROUND: Wernicke's aphasia is a challenging communication disability to live with, characterised by fluent speech, impaired auditory comprehension and reduced self-monitoring. There is little literature addressing functional therapy approaches. For example, there is limited evidence for communication partner training (CPT) for this client group, despite research on its effectiveness more generally. It is not known how speech and language therapists (SLTs) understand and apply this limited and disparate evidence to their practice. AIMS: To explore how SLTs assess and treat people with Wern
