Noninvasive fungal sinusitis (fungus ball) is usually found in one sinus and the most frequently is caused by Aspergillus. Diagnostic criteria are based on histopathology, and fungal cultures are frequently negative. The clinical symptomatology mimics chronic rhinosinusitis and radiology, specially CT and MRI are helpful for making decision of surgery. A 39-year-old man presented with unilateral visual loss as the first sign of multiple myeloma (MM). His visual loss was due to a plasmacytoma in the sphenoid sinus compressing the optic nerve with resultant optic nerve atrophy. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the present study was to analyze histologically the midline structures in a human fetus with holoprosencephaly and … , and partial absence of cartilaginous tissue anterior to the sella turcica in the region of the presphenoid bone were recorded.
CONCLUSIONS: The study shows that in the affected fetus, there were malformations of midline structures anterior to the sella turcica comprising suture development and cartilage development.
