OBJECTIVE: To establish the prevalence of menstrual-related problems among university students.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A questionnaire regarding gynecological, bleeding and family history was sent by electronic mail (e-mail) to all female students attending University College London (UCL).
RESULTS: A total of 767 students aged 18-39 years replied; 71% had a regular menstrual cycle. One in three (n = 264) had received some treatment for their menstrual periods (such as the combined oral contraceptive pill or simple analgesia). OBJECTIVES: The main purpose of this study is to compare audiological outcomes of incus reconstruction, Xomed Medtronic universal titanium partial ossicular replacement prosthesis (PORP) and total ossicular replacement prosthesis (TORP). Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is an intriguing condition that evolves during infancy. It would be thus foolhardy to expect a screening tool at birth to be both highly sensitive and specific. BACKGROUND: Bacteremia is a major pediatric health care problem despite the availability of new modalities in the management of this disease. The aim of the present study was to determine the incidence and pattern of bacteremia in pediatric group at a tertiary hospital in Riyadh, SaudiArabia.
METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted at the Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine, King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh in the period of January 2003 to January 2005. Positive culture was found in 259 patients aged below 15 years with a total of 8244 admissions in the period.

Although surgical site infections have decreased with the use of prophylactic antibiotics, inappropriate surgical antibiotic prophylaxis is still a world-wide problem. In this retrospective study, perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis was evaluated in a university hospital. All surgical procedures (total 2038) performed in the year 2002 were included. We investigated a suspected cluster of lymphohaematopoietic cancer in departments of biology and chemistry at a Norwegian university. A historical cohort of students and employees (n = 7,189) were followed for cancer for 96,936 person-years in the Cancer Registry of Norway. INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the morbidity and convalescence of donors after laparoscopic nephrectomy. Transperitoneal laparoscopy was initiated at Herlev University Hospital in November 2002.

On October 31, 2004, a stream overflowed, flooding the University of Hawaii (UH) campus. On November 19, 2004, a possible flood-related leptospirosis case (Patient 1) was reported to the Hawaii State Department of Health (HDOH). A retrospective survey on drug prescription over a 5-year period (1998 to 2003) in 1,540 inpatients in a psychiatric university hospital in Germany was carried out.
