PURPOSE: Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is an autosomal recessive disorder of connective tissue, affecting the retina, the skin, and the cardiovascular system. PXE is caused by mutations in ABCC6. Up to now, the literature reports that there are 180 different ABCC6 mutations in PXE. The purpose of this paper is to report eight novel mutations in ABCC6 and to update the spectrum and frequency of ABCC6 mutations in PXE patients.

This paper presents the investigation results of methylmercury and total mercury in gastropod and bivalve species collected from eight coastal sites along the Chinese Bohai Sea. A radioimmunoassay method was developed to measure plasma aldosterone levels. Antibody was produced in rabbits by injecting aldosterone oxime coupled with bovine gamma-globulin once a month. The valorization of alkali lignin, an abundant by-product of the pulp and paper industry, is crucial for advancing circular bioeconomy goals.
