408 cases of chronic superficial gastritis diagnosed by fibergastroscopy and histology were treated with Wei-Nin granules (WNG), The symptomatic effective rate was 90.5%, while therapeutic effect proved by gastroscopy and histology was 81.9% and 72.8% respectively. Billroth II resection was carried out in 1000 duodenal ulcer patients in the period 1948-1956. Twenty-two to thirty years later, gastroscopy and biopsy was performed in 196 of 423 survivors. Nineteen patients with a history of heartburn, bile vomiting, and postprandial pain after gastric surgery have been compared with 16 symptom-free gastrectomized patients with regard to bile reflux, gastric emptying rate, and gastric mucosal changes. Occult gastrointestinal bleeding was defined as continued bleeding in spite of a normal series of roentgenorgrams of the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, barium enema, and sigmoidoscopy. Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used for the management of hypertension. We report a case of Olmesartan-associated severe gastritis and enteropathy (OAE) in a 81-year-old female patient who presented with anorexia and weight loss.
