A 42-year-old woman who had two normal uncomplicated vaginal deliveries was seen for menorrhagia. Endocrine studies and ultrasonography had normal results. An elevated bleeding time and an activated partial thromboplastin time led to further hematologic testing. It is unknown whether the pathogenic microbial spectrum differs between HSCT and non-HSCT patients, and whether metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of peripheral blood can be used as a substitute test specimen such as alveolar lavage.
METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the clinical application value of mNGS in hematological patients with and without HSCT.
RESULTS: Viruses were prevalent pathogens in both non-HSCT (44%) and HSCT (45%) patients, chiefly human cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the results of unqualified blood screening among blood donors in Shaoxing region.
METHODS: 257 145 blood samples from volunteer blood donors from 2017 to 2021 were tested for HBsAg, HCV, HIV, TP, ALT, HTLV, and NAT. All blood test results were analyzed retrospectively.
