Post-policy evaluation lags of tobacco and nicotine product policies: a systematic review from the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

OBJECTIVE: This systematic review examines the time interval between policy implementation and evaluation of behavioral results in tobacco control studies (evaluation lag) as well as reported estimates. Results can help policymakers avoid premature conclusions and make more informed decisions about policy effectiveness. METHODS: We reviewed studies from 2010 onward evaluating the effects of policies implemented at national-level or across majority provinces on behavioral outcomes, including tobacco use, cessation attempts, and secondhand smoke exposure, in the United States, Canada, Australia

The Digital Pediatric Physiotherapy Framework (DPPF): A Systematic Review of Digital Health Integration in Pediatric Physiotherapy.

BACKGROUND: Technology such as telerehabilitation, virtual reality, robotics, and wearable systems are reshaping pediatric physiotherapy. While evidence remains fragmented, there is little guidance on how these approaches can be integrated into coherent, family-centered care pathways. OBJECTIVE: To develop the Digital Pediatric Physiotherapy Framework (DPPF) based on a systematic review of randomized evidence on digital interventions in pediatric physiotherapy. METHODS: Several databases were searched for randomized trials published after 1 January 2020, including PubMed, Web of Science Core

Antimicrobial Stewardship in Urgent Care Settings: A Systematic Review of Prescribing, Clinical, and Microbiological Outcomes.

Emergency and urgent care settings are frequently the first point of antimicrobial prescribing, making them a key setting for antimicrobial stewardship. Despite growing recommendations for implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs) in urgent care settings, evidence of their effectiveness and impact remains dispersed. This systematic review evaluated the impact of ASPs on antimicrobial prescribing, clinical and microbiological outcomes, and implementation in urgent care settings. A systematic review was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review

Impact of COVID-19 on the implementation of mental health interventions for adolescents living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa: a systematic review protocol.

INTRODUCTION: Adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) are a vulnerable population disproportionately affected by mental health disorders due to the combined burden of chronic illness, stigma and socioeconomic challenges. In response, numerous mental health interventions have been implemented to support ALHIV. However, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted health systems, particularly in-person services, potentially undermining the delivery and efficacy of these interventions. This protocol describes the methodology for a systematic review that will assess the im

Barriers and Facilitators to Adherence to Exercise-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation Among Coronary Artery Disease Patients: A Scoping Review.

BACKGROUND: Exercise-based Cardiac Rehabilitation (EBCR) is widely recognized as a crucial intervention for improving the health outcomes of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). However, its implementation remains insufficient in many regions, and patient adherence to EBCR is generally low. This limitation hinders the full potential of rehabilitation, necessitating a deeper exploration of the factors influencing exercise adherence and the development of targeted intervention strategies. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to identify the barriers and facilitators affecting ERCR adherence among

Performance Degradation between Development and Deployment of a Predictive Model for Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections in Hospitalized Children.

Central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) are associated with substantial pediatric morbidity and mortality. The capacity to predict which children with central lines are at greatest risk of CLABSI could inform surveillance and prevention efforts. Our team previously published in silico predictive models for CLABSI.To prospectively implement a pediatric CLABSI predictive model and achieve adequate performance in offline validation for implementation in clinical practice. Most performant predictive models were deep learning models requiring substantial pre-processing of many featu

Community perceptions and acceptability of mass drug administration for the control of neglected tropical diseases in Asia-Pacific countries: A systematic scoping review of qualitative research.

BACKGROUND: Preventative chemotherapy and mass drug administration have been identified as effective strategies for the prevention, treatment, control and elimination of several NTDs in the Asia-Pacific region. Qualitative research can provide in-depth insight into the social dynamics and processes underlying effective implementation of and adherence to mass drug administration programs. This scoping review examines published qualitative literature to examine factors influencing community perceptions and acceptability of mass drug administration approaches to control NTDs in the Asia-Pacific r

Barriers and enablers in the implementation and sustainability of toothbrushing programs in early childhood settings and primary schools: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Untreated dental caries negatively impacts a child's quality of life including overall health and wellbeing, growth and development, social interaction ability, and school attendance. School-based toothbrushing programs have been recognised as an effective intervention to reduce the burden of dental caries. However, limited information is available to understand the real-world enablers and challenges in the implementation and sustainability of toothbrushing programs. This review aims to understand the barriers and enablers in the implementation and sustainability of toothbrushing p

Collaborative implementation of a community-based exercise intervention with a partnering rural American Indian community.

BACKGROUND: The prevalence and socioeconomic burden of childhood obesity and diabetes has increased rapidly in the United States in the last 30 years. American Indians have the highest prevalence of type 2 diabetes among newly diagnosed youth in the country. Contributing factors include environmental, behavioral, and genetic components. Some American Indian tribal communities have explored innovative ways to combat this epidemic including collaborations with academic centers on community-based research. METHOD: From 2012 to 2017, the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and the Chocta

Implementation of HPV-based Cervical Cancer Screening Combined with Self-sampling Using a Midwifery Network Across Rural Greece: The GRECOSELF Study.

Self-sampling for human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is an alternative to physician sampling particularly for cervical cancer screening nonattenders. The GRECOSELF study is a nationwide observational cross-sectional study aiming to suggest a way to implement HPV-DNA testing in conjunction with self-sampling for cervical cancer screening in Greece, utilizing a midwifery network. Women residing in remote areas of Greece were approached by midwives, of a nationwide network, and were provided with a self-collection kit (dry swab) for cervicovaginal sampling and asked to answer a questionnaire abou

Felt and expressed needs regarding occupational health services from the perspective of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises: a scoping review.

BACKGROUND: In the context of the changing need for health care and prevention due to climate, digital and demographic change, occupational health services are of enormous relevance, as many people can be reached. Of particular interest are the occupational health services in micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), as smaller companies are experiencing an unequal distribution of resources. To optimise the implementation in MSMEs, the aim of this scoping review is to present an overview of the MSMEs' needs regarding occupational health services. METHODS: The literature search was
