We investigated the relationship between dyslexia and three aspects of language: speech perception, phonology, and morphology. Reading and language tasks were administered to dyslexics aged 8-9 years and to two normal reader groups (age-matched and reading-level matched). This study examined whether one can differentiate between areas of known visual field loss and areas of known relative field sparing in eyes with primary open angle glaucoma using motion coherence thresholds. We used magnetic brain stimulation with a butterfly coil over the occipital lobes to study extrafoveal visual field effects in six subjects. The visual test pattern was a grid of asterisks around a central fixation point, and the target was the disappearance of one asterisk for a single frame of the video monitor. The role of social identity as a moderator for perception of risk for AIDS has not been examined. The perception and production of pitch contours were investigated in single words produced by two groups of alaryngeal speakers: tracheo-oesophageal (TE) and oesophageal (E) speakers.
