METHODS: In total, 368 university students participated. The OASA structure and the key points of application in PE were described. Descriptive statistics of the training units (n = 3,680) were processed. The students recorded their training data in the Strava app (10 sessions per semester), and the data were shared in the online sport community created o

The importance of information and support following a suspected second-trimester anomaly that is later discarded: A qualitative study of women's experiences.

INTRODUCTION: A second-trimester anatomy scan may identify a suspected minor fetal anomaly and/or "soft marker," such as choroid plexus cysts or femoral shortening. Such findings can raise a medical concern, as they could indicate severe fetal disease; however, they are also often transient or a "false alarm." The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of pregnant women, where a medical concern was raised at the second-trimester ultrasound scan and later discarded after follow-up examinations and diagnostic testing. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study consists of qualitative, in-depth

Impact of extent of lung disease on nutritional, physiological, functional, and psychosocial outcomes of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with post-tuberculosis sequelae: A prospective study from Western India.

BACKGROUND: Post-tuberculosis lung disease (PTLD) is increasingly recognized as a major cause of chronic respiratory morbidity in tuberculosis (TB) survivors. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) improves functional outcomes in PTLD, but the influence of disease extent on response to rehabilitation is underexplored, particularly in high-burden settings such as India. METHODS: This prospective interventional study was conducted at our center, over 6 months. Sixty patients with radiologically confirmed post-tuberculosis sequelae were enrolled and stratified into mild ( n = 27), moderate ( n = 24), and

Study on intervention effect of Wearable Cyborg HAL through narrative analysis.

BACKGROUND: The medical effectiveness of Cybernics Treatment with the Wearable Cyborg HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb) has been verified, and its treatment method has started to be used in many countries around the world. However, the focus of medical evaluations has predominantly been on simple measurement evaluation of physical function, while Patient Reported Outcome (PRO), which encompass various evaluation axes of patients, remain largely unexplored. The mental/psychological field has the potential to develop cutting-edge fields targeting individuals. As the social implementation of HAL progre

Examining the relationship between sleep quality and depressive symptoms in Korean women engaged in soccer during the coronavirus pandemic.

INTRODUCTION: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused sudden changes to daily lives, such as self-isolation and social distancing, and has negatively affected sleep quality and patterns. The resulting psychological discomfort has caused many Korean women to experience depressive moods. Vigorous physical activity is considered effective in improving sleep quality and alleviating depressive symptoms. As a form of vigorous physical activity, soccer could be used to improve women's mental health. This study aimed to ascertain the effects of playing soccer on sleep quality and depressive symptoms in women

Anxiety, self-confidence, and self-esteem in relation to competitive coping profiles: a multivariate analysis.

OBJECTIVE: This study examined the relationships between self-esteem, competitive state anxiety, and coping strategies in Tunisian junior middle- and long-distance runners, with a focus on gender differences. METHODS: A cross-sectional design was used with 156 athletes (76 males, 80 females; age: 18-19 years). Self-esteem, competitive state anxiety, and coping strategies were assessed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, CSAI-2R, and ISCCS. Shoulder and Neck Balance in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: Which Radiographic Indices are Reliable and Practical?

INTRODUCTION: Deformities of the spine and thorax in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis affect appearance. They are a cause of inferiority, affecting psychological well-being and the social life of the patients. To contribute to curve evaluation, planning in curve correction, and improving the post-operative aesthetics, many studies on the correlation between appearance and radiography in the assessment of shoulder and neck balance have been reported recently. In general, these studies did not clarify which indices are required to evaluate shoulder and neck balance. This study aimed to learn abou

Effectiveness of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease after lobectomy due to non-small cell lung cancer - a single-center retrospective study.

INTRODUCTION: The procedure of lung parenchyma resection may result in impairment of physical capacity and quality of life. In patients with operable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), lobectomy is an elective procedure. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common coexisting condition in patients with NSCLC. Effectiveness of post-operative pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in patients who underwent lobectomy due to NSCLC and suffering from COPD as compared to individuals without COPD has not been determined yet. The aim of the study was to compare effectiveness of post-operative PR i

Feasibility of Prehabilitation Prior to Breast Cancer Surgery: A Mixed-Methods Study.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer surgery results in numerous acute and long-term adverse outcomes; the degree to which these can be mitigated or prevented through prehabilitation is unknown. METHODS: We conducted a longitudinal, single-arm, mixed-methods study to examine the feasibility of prehabilitation in 22 women undergoing breast cancer surgery. All participants received an individualized exercise prescription including upper quadrant-specific resistance and mobility training and aerobic exercise for the duration of their surgical wait time. Feasibility was assessed by recruitment, adherence, a

Predictors of healthier and more sustainable school travel mode profiles among Hong Kong adolescents.

BACKGROUND: Adolescent travel mode choices to/from school vary in their physical activity (PA) component and environmental sustainability. Research has typically focussed on correlates of active travel, the most healthy and sustainable mode, in comparison to other modes combined. Under the premise that a small shift from less to more healthy/sustainable modes may be a more feasible than a shift to 'pure' active travel (e.g., walking), we examined potential correlates of the odds of undertaking more vs. less healthy/sustainable modes. METHODS: Hong Kong adolescents attending secondary school a

The recovery after Achilles tendon rupture: a protocol for a multicenter prospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND: Achilles tendon rupture (ATR) is a common sports injury, with a rising incidence and significant impairments. Due to the lack of treatment guidelines, there is no consensus about diagnostic methods, primary treatment (non-surgical or surgical) and rehabilitation. It is hypothesized that this lack of consensus and guidelines leads to sub-optimal recovery and higher societal costs. The primary aim of this study is to give a broad insight into the recovery after ATR. Secondarily this study aims to explore factors contributing to recovery and gain insight into the cost-effectiveness of
