OBJECTIVES: Young contacts of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) patients face a higher risk of TB. Still, few studies have evaluated this risk among contacts of patients with pulmonary multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). This study aimed to describe the incidence rate and the prevalence of TB infection (TBI) and TB disease (TBD) in young contacts of patients with MDR-TB.

An account is given of the experimental in vivo transfer of PPD-specific delayed hypersensitivity with a very small number of autologous lymphocytes pre-sensitised with PPD-specific transfer factor (TF). Transfer was assessed in 17 volunteers both in vivo by means of the Mantoux skin reaction, and in vitro by means of the leukocyte migration inhibition test, the lymphocyte locomotion test, and the leukocyte adherence inhibition test. Positivization of the tests suggests that TF triggers a reaction which expands the effect of hypersensitivity.

Status of non-specific cell mediated immunity in 49 leprosy patients classified according to Ridley & Jopling scale and 16 non leprous controls was studied using epicutaneous sensitization with DNCB and quantitatively grading the degree of sensitization with DNCB and quantitatively grading the degree of sensitization and Mx. test with 1 TU PPD. The effect of dapsone administration on CMI responses was also observed. There was no gross depression of CMI responses as made out by epicutaneous sensitization to DNCB but quantitative grading of responses revealed a subtle depression of CMI responses

AIM: To analyze the clinical spectrum of urogenital tuberculosis (TB) in children from 1993-1997 to 2013-2017, who were treated at the FSCU "Kiritsy".
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Clinical forms of urogenital tuberculosis were diagnosed in 195 children (stage 1) and 158 children (stage 2). Conventional methods of TB diagnosis, including clinical, laboratory, imaging studies, tuberculin skin test and urine culture for BCG were used.
