OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to identify risk factors for incomplete excision of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs).
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A cross-sectional study of 369 patients who underwent a primary excision of SCCs was performed within an outpatient and a hospital plastic surgery department setting.
RESULTS: Incomplete excision occurred in 25 of 369 primary excisions of SCC (6.8%). Location of the tumors on the forehead, temples, peri-auricular region, ears, cheeks, nose, lips or neck was significantly associated with incomplete excision of the tumors. In particular, high incomplet

The results are reported of a retrospective review of the presentation and outcome of 43 pineal region tumors treated from 1982 to 1996, including 20 identified tumors: 5 germinomas, 8 teratomas, 2 embryonal carcinomas, 1 endodermal sinus tumor, 2 pineocytomas and 2 pineoblastomas. Fifty patients with pineal and/or suprasellar tumors were treated in the Department of Radiology, University of Tokyo, from 1975 to 1988. Histological diagnosis was obtained in 28 cases, whereas 22 patients were irradiated without pathological verification. AIMS: Mucin 4 (MUC4) is a transmembrane glycoprotein normally expressed by several human epithelial surfaces, including those of the colon, vagina, and respiratory tract.
