AIM: Congenital mesoblastic nephroma (CMN) is the commonest renal tumour of infancy, with classical, cellular and mixed histological subtypes described. In this study we report the histopathological features in a series of 88 biopsies from patients with cutaneous Kaposi's sarcoma; immunohistochemical examination for Factor VIII related antigen has been carried out on frozen and paraffin-embedded sections. BACKGROUND: Neonatal hemochromatosis (NH), a rare disorder seen in newborns, is defined as liver failure with extrahepatic iron deposition that spares the reticuloendothelial elements. This disorder is considered the pathologic end point of a variety of diseases that result in prenatal liver failure, and mortality without aggressive treatment is common. Three approaches were taken with the aim of defining the optimum conditions of rapid cryopreservation in liquid quenchants. In a theoretical approach, two mathematical models were used.
