There is an evolving body of knowledge regarding the acetabular labrum. Labral tears are most frequently anterior and often are associated with sudden twisting or pivoting motions. High clinical suspicion in association with positive physical findings are fundamental for the clinician to properly determine treatment for the suspected tear. Labral tears, especially those present for years, may contribute to the progression of hip osteoarthritis. Patients at risk include those with developmental dysplasia, those with tears greater than 5 years, and those with associated chondral full-thickness l

BACKGROUND: This article presents a rare case of a complex hip fracture involving the ipsilateral femoral neck, trochanter, and femoral head, that was accompanied by hip dislocation. Currently, there is no established standard treatment method for this specific type of fracture. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehensively consider factors such as patient age, fracture type, and degree of displacement to achieve a successful outcome.
CASE SUMMARY: A 38-year-old man sustained a comminuted fracture of his right hip as a result of a car accident. The injuries included a fracture of the femoral he

BACKGROUND: Trochanteric fractures are very common hip injuries often fixed with intramedullary nailing as the recommended treatment. Medial lag screw migration of the intramedullary nail system is an uncommon complication. The objective of this case report is to highlight the importance of optimal reduction in hip fractures and the need for a multidisciplinary approach with vascular assistance in intrapelvic lag screw migration.
CASE REPORT AND RESULTS: We collected 24 cases of intrapelvic migration of the lag screw in the latest literature. Here, we report the case of a 68-year-old patient …

Central Fracture Dislocation of the Hip is a rare condition requiring more attention in its management, caused by high-energy trauma and is often associated with other injuries. This case report presents a 57-years old female who was injured in a traffic accident and diagnosed with polytrauma, abdominal blunt trauma with 7th zone liver laceration, central fracture dislocation of the left hip associated with closed fracture left acetabulum anterior column and closed fracture left neck femur. Until now, there is no mandatory management to treat this kind of injury. Several surgical techniques we

Operative management of concomitant ipsilateral femur fracture and anterior hip dislocation has not been previously described in the literature. We report the case of a 15-years-old girl who was injured in a motorcycle accident and presented with a femoral shaft fracture and a concomitant ipsilateral anterior hip dislocation. Operative management consisted of an attempted closed reduction of the femoral fracture, which was unsuccessful; thus, an external fixator was temporarily applied. Subsequently, the hip dislocation was treated by open reduction through an anterolateral approach. Finally,

Arthroscopy : the journal of arthroscopic & related surgery : official publication of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Arthroscopy Association2016eng
PURPOSE: This systematic review explored the indications, efficacy, and complications of hip arthroscopy in the setting of trauma.
METHODS: Databases (PubMed, Medline, Embase, and Web of Science) were searched from database inception to March 2015 for studies using hip arthroscopy in trauma treatment. Systematic screening of eligible studies was undertaken in duplicate. The inclusion criteria included studies pertaining to arthroscopic intervention of all traumatic hip injuries. Abstracted data were organized in table format with descriptive statistics presented.
RESULTS: From an initial sea…
