OBJECTIVES: To understand the current risk of HIV infection and transmission and further elucidate the underlying risk factors among men who have sex with men and women (MSMW) in China.
METHODS: Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of searching through Chinese and English available literature databases between January 2000 and June 2014 to identify articles.

INTRODUCTION: The association between childhood sexual abuse and HIV risk among men who have sex with men (MSM) is well established. However, no studies have examined the potential impact of other forms of childhood maltreatment on HIV incidence in this population.

Our aim was to examine the potential incremental impact of vaccinating boys against human papillomavirus (HPV) on vaccine-type infection in females and males, using an individual-based HPV transmission-dynamic model. We examined mock jurors' reactions to a sexual abuse case involving a male teacher and a 10-year-old child. Because gay men are sometimes stereotyped as child molesters, we portrayed defendant sexual orientation as either gay or straight and the victim as either a boy or girl. Jurors made more pro-prosecution decisions in cases involving a gay versus straight defendant, particularly when the victim was a boy. In previous research, a late birth order has been shown to be a characteristic of Western homosexual transsexual men. Using a subset of youth from a sample of 3,636 Canadian adolescents, the present study examined sexual orientation and victimization experiences in high school. A total of 130 adolescents indicated they were gay, lesbian, bisexual, or questioning their sexual orientation. Significantly more adolescents identified as bisexual (N = 50) or questioning (N = 68) than as gay or lesbian (N = 12). The registered number of cases of early infectious syphilis and of (ano)genital gonorrhoea among the attendees of the outpatient clinic for sexually transmitted diseases of the Amsterdam municipal health service shows a strong increase for both diagnoses in the period 1990-2001, notably in the last few years. Nearly all of this increase is accounted for by homosexual men. Syphilis increased mostly among men aged 35 years and over, gonorrhoea mostly among younger men. The population of older men also showed a distinct increase since 1997 in HIV incidence.
